Principal Consultant

Michael Davies is a highly experienced IT Executive and Consultant with over thirty-five years experience in all aspects of the Information Technology Industry.

He has held positions of Executive Director with the responsibility of building IT Consulting Groups, Senior Practice Director with one of the world’s largest software companies, CIO, IT Director and Manager Consultant with the major Professional Services Firms. His industry experience includes several years in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industries, State and local government, intensive manufacturing and distribution experience and education and training industries, in locations around the world.

Michael has built and developed IT Consulting Groups, completed total reorganization and rebuilding of corporate IT Departments, developed numerous IT Strategic Plans for private and public sector organisations and developed a number of large-scale Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery and Business Contingency Plans. These have covered the complete contingency planning for distribution, IT, marketing and corporate Head Office functions and distributed retail operations.

Michael has lived and worked around the world, including the UK, Canada, USA, Mexico, Asia-Pacific and Australia.  He worked with one the “Big Six” firms in Australia developing its Malaysian practice, and he returned to Australia in early 2002 from sixteen years of living in the USA, including two years of building a consulting practice covering the entire Asia-Pacific Region.

He previously held positions of IT Director and CIO for two large corporations in Canada. Most of these appointments included responsibility for IT Strategy, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning. With OpsCentre, his clients have included NSW Department of Education and Training, NSW Health, Queensland Health, South East Sydney Area Health Services, Illawarra Health Service, Lend Lease and I-MED/MIA Network.

Michael has an Honours Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Birmingham in the UK and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
