Darrin Gay – Principal Consultant

Darrin has an extensive range of consultancy and management level experience developed in the Information Technology Industry for Government and private sector clients.  He has held positions in IT Infrastructure design, administration and maintenance, systems architecture planning and installation, project management, State Service Delivery Management, client management and BCP and DR Management across a variety of industries both public and private.  He has worked on IT DR and BCP projects for  Maple Brown Abbott, Australian College of Physical Education, Tower Australia Limited, Goodman International, WM7, Medtronic, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Central Corporate Services Unit, Department of Finance and Deregulation, Flexirent, Globus, Amity, Arthur Allen Robinson, Cartesian Capital, and Manpower.

Prior to joining OpsCentre, Darrin was a Senior Manager/Consultant working for a major IT Solutions Provider delivering managed services, specialised projects, software development as well as secure telecommunications services.  His exposure to a broad range of clients across a wide spectrum of industries allowed for the development of an extremely diversified consultancy expertise. 

His BCP and DR expertise focuses on the Financial, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail and Government sectors including the following:

Architecture of all company BCP and DR requirements as well as practical methodologies for the delivery of related services satisfying APRA and internal client audit standards;

Aligning company strategy with effective and maintainable BCP and DR planning;

Planning and coordination of all DR scenario testing, maintenance, return to production and change management; and

BCP and DR Projects managed using industry standard practice (Prince 2 and internally developed methodologies) and effective/timely management reporting.

Darrin worked for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for 5 years administering and managing internal IT systems, developing internal documentation, policies and processes as well as continuous service improvement and vendor management.

His experience across a diversified client base allows for a complete understanding of requirements to ensure the continued delivery of essential services to any business.
