THIS COURSE has been developed for someone recently assigned to IT Disaster Recovery who needs to cmprehend the structure and flow of creating, testing and maintaining an IT disaster recovery plan, or senior management who need to understand the IT Disaster Recovery process, so they can create an appropriate project plan and manage delivery of an IT disaster recovery stragegy.

Delegates will gain an understanding of how IT Disaster Recovery fits into the overall Crisis and Business Continuity Management process, and how to implement a holistic approach to IT Disaster Recovery on an organisation-wide basis.

THIS WORKSHOP covers the fundamentals of planning for and executing IT Disaster Recovery tests.

Delegates will gain an understanding of how IT Disaster Recovery fits into the overall Crisis and Business Continuity Management process, and how the IT DR plan can be tested, either independently, or in conjunction iwth, Business Continuity testing.

All delegates will be given an opportunity to plan and run a hypothetical exercise, based on a sample case study, using DR scenarios and test templates provided during the workshop.

This COURSE is aimed at the person responsible for the selection and implementation of technologies to support IT Disaster Recovery, or for managers needing a broad understanding of the different types of IT DR technology.

Rather than promoting any individual vendor solution, this course provides:
- a conceptual overview of various technologies available to underpin an IT DR
environment
- examples of commercially available products, and
- considerations on how to select and implement commercially available
products.

Case studies are also provided showing how organisations have implemented
these technologies to address their IT DR needs.

This COURSE is aimed at the person who has a good working knowledge of
IT Disaster Recovery practices while wishing to further their knowledge of
advanced DR Considerations and develop advanced skills.

The course covers how to obtain management buy-in, approval and support,
how to develop a disaster recovery budget, an IT DR Policy and governance
framework and assigning and managing IT DR plan ownership.

The course then looks at developing an advanced risk profile for IT DR
infrastructure and systems, how to align your Disaster Recovery Plan to business
requirements, and finally advanced IT DR implementation considerations.

Delegates will undertake a “Cost of Downtime” exercise during the course.

Case studies are provided showing how several organisations have
implemented advanced IT DR solutions.
